THE LARGEST

PLASTICS AND RUBBER EXHIBITION

IN THE MIDDLE EAST AND NORTH AFRICA

Plastics Recycling Zone

The growing concern about the increasing plastic waste in landfills has resulted in significant encouragement for recycling to create a circular plastics economy. Plastic recycling is a global industry and part of the plastic life cycle. Recyclers rely mainly on local plastic waste sorted for the recycling process, and most of their production of recycled plastic material is distributed to local converters, with minor exports of recycled plastics and compounds, such as PET, PE, and PP. In Egypt, the recycling of plastic is still in its nascent stage, and there are few startups taking leverage of the opportunity of recycling or trading the plastic waste ending up in landfills.

Aiming to support sustainable companies and addressing the challenges concerning recycling e-waste, PLASTEX 2024 has introduced a new Plastics Recycling Zone providing an opportunity to new entreprenuers and established companies to share and discuss their recycling methods and technologies.
